THE PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE

It is with particular pleasure that we invite you to the 5th International Railway Conference to be held on the 2nd and 3rd of April, 2012 in the Congress Hall of the Grand Hotel Adriatic in Opatija, organised by the Croatian Railway's Association of Engineers (HDŽI) and UEEIV as its partner.

The basic purpose of the Conference is to review the state, the possibilities and the prospects of the national and regional railway transport markets. Particular emphasis shall be placed on investments in the development and modernisation of railway infrastructure on significant traffic corridors and their branches which form the backbone of the railway network in the region, as well as the modernisation of the rolling stock.

The Conference shall also endeavour to gather together representatives of railway and supporting industries in order to enable them to present the most up-to-date technologies and technical accomplishments, whose application could have a significant influence on the implementation of planned modernisation projects.

The Croatian Railways’ Association of Engineers together with all participants shall endeavour to make this Conference both useful and enjoyable, with the ambition that the conclusions formed should contribute to the advancement and development of the railways according to European standards and expectations.
